Time's up for Speckles!
NOTE: Sorry, readers but things at HQ are a bit crazed at the moment and this post was delayed. We hope all of you haven't read this already.Trusty Roger Friedman notes in today's column that tomorrow, February 21st, is Mikey's D-Day. It's the day that his $270-million loan with Fortress Investments comes due and he's out of options for weasling out from under. His latest extension of 60-days is gone and Fortress could, if they chose, pull the rug from under our pallid pervo, including his "livelihood and home". From an earlier Rog column, we know that Sony's frantically working out a deal that would have Citigroup buy the loan from Fortress. This would be advantageous for them as it would have the dual effect of saving Speckles from bankruptcy and would prevent more partners from horning-in on their ultimate prize: the ATV (Beatles) catalog. We'll have to wait till tomorrow to know what the final outcome is, but whatever happens it's just the beginning of a whole mess of problems that Mikey can no longer ignore: the $4-million Marc Schaffel suit, the Damon Dash mess ($48-million!) and the still-morphing custody battle with ex-wife, Big Deb! Never fear, dedicated haterz, Mikey's not fazed in the least. He visited a bud in the UK last week and was characteristally free of worry about his disintegrating fortunes and those affected by them. He's consistent, ya gotta give 'im that! The link is here.
Oh, and the nutcase pic is from a selection taken in Germany on the day Mikey dangled the unfortunate Blanket from the hotel balcony in '02. Cuckoo-cuckoo!
