Jeffrey Welbaum, alternate juror No. 2 during the Mikey molestation Trial of the Millennium (yes! we
are being facetious), has tried to sell his stuff on ebay. The stuff in question includes his original notes, juror's badge and official certification signed by Judge Melville that he was juror #207 in the pool. The opening bid was $550. All this comes from the added-onto Friedman column for today, (
link) and I wish Rog had posted the link to it. We went to ebay and couldn't track it down to see if the stuff sold and for how much. Personally, we're waiting for the feisty, "don't you shake your finger at me, lady" grandma juror to post her stuff... she's a pistol, that one! The ol' fool.

GQ catches up with MJ in Bahrain
OK, OK, you're tired of reading about Michael Jackson. But aren't you the least curious about why he's split from the green acres of Neverland Ranch and decamped to the desert isle of Bahrain, and what he's doing there?
They call him one of the weirdest people on Earth and you don't wonder why he moved to the Persian Gulf?
Well, for one thing, he's out of the clutches of DA Tom Sneddon. True, MJ beat Tom's molestation rap but who knows what else might be coming, right?
He's also out of the clutches of Jury Commissioner Gary Blair. If you thought the former King of Pop going on trial for holding pajama parties with young boys was a circus, what would it be like for him to sit on a molestation jury?
Anyway, GQ magazine sent a reporter to Bahrain to find MJ and see what he was up to.
Well, what he's up to, as far as GQ could determine, was pretty much what he was up to in the U.S.: frenzy shopping and taking his "three white-seeming children" -- as the magazine termed it -- to the movies.
And dodging crowds of camera-wielding tourists.
Michael Jackson, it seems, is the personal guest of the king of Bahrain, who is very petro-rich and has four wives. "If he wants another wife he has to divorce someone first," GQ said. "It's the Netflix theory of polygamy."
On weekends, tens of thousands of pleasure-seekers swarm in from Saudi Arabia, some to consume alcoholic beverages, shop in the presence of the opposite sex and perchance bed down with Thai hookers, all activities denied to them back home, GQ said.
Jackson's trial is a forbidden subject there, so few are aware of it. In Bahrain there are no paparazzi, free elections or problems of free speech.
Whether MJ will ever return to Santa Barbara County seems questionable. He's building a home -- maybe several -- in Bahrain. No problems with the DA there.
floh, I think Santa Barbara is paying them to let him stay there (just kidding).

Michael Jackson angry at GQ magazine
NEW YORK - A recent GQ article spoofing Michael Jackson has the singer demanding the magazine apologize and pull the issue from circulation.
In a statement released Friday, Jackson’s representative, Raymone K. Bain, said Jackson is “furious” about a series of photos featuring a Jackson impersonator in the magazine’s May issue, now on newsstands.
The photos accompany an article called “Where’s Michael?” which documents writer Devin Friedman’s quest to find Jackson in Bahrain, the Middle Eastern country where he lives.
In one photo, a Jackson look-alike sits in a darkened movie theater amid a row of children. Another photo shows him standing in the desert draped in a black cloak and headscarf, with his trademark glittery white glove.
The statement said: “Mr. Jackson is furious that his image has been used in such a misleading way, and is demanding an apology from the editors of GQ, and its publisher, Conde Nast. Mr. Jackson is also demanding that the magazines be pulled from newsstands.”
Jim Nelson, GQ editor-in-chief, responded with a statement Friday: “It is very clear that the pictures in the story ... are satirical, whether it’s a picture of a Michael Jackson imitator sitting in a Bahraini cinema or an image of The Gloved One standing flamboyantly in the desert.
“Mr. Jackson may feel that the person in the photographs is an ‘impostor,’ but he is merely an imitator,” said Nelson.
Jackson, 47, moved to the Gulf state soon after being acquitted of child molestation charges in California last year.
