No baloney?!

Whoa. Roger Friedman's reporting today that Mikey may be receiving some financial butt-saving from a very unlikely source: Sony! This is pretty amazing news on several levels not least of which that Mikey himself held a demonstration at Sony headquarters in 2002 where he accused Sony and it's then-CEO Tommy Mottola of, among other things, "underpromoting" his 'Invincible' CD and being "racist" and "very, very devilish" (see lunatic queen pic)... Of course, if Sony does step in and lends Mikey some help there will be something in it for them: the ATV (Beatles) catalog. An unnamed Sony insider is quoted saying "This would be in our best interests," pointing out that if Mikey's major creditor were to foreclose on him, Sony would be farther away from owning his half of the ATV catalog than they are now.

We figured someone might step in put up some coin on Mikey's behalf but this came out of left field, although it does make sense. With a mere few hours left to go before the loan foreclosure could go into effect (see the Countdown Clock below) it remains to be seen if Mikey, who the report says is alone in Bahrain with his nanny and kids, will be advised to take this deal by Prince Mo'money, who is now his sole advisor. Weird. Anyway,
here's Rog's report. And just for kicks here's a Mikey fan site's take on the Sony conspiracy, complete with "universal" communiqués to the fans from their idol — enjoy!

UPDATE: The attorneys are in discussion regarding the foreclosure. One of Mikey's civil law attorneys assures that there is no "doomsday" imminent. Damn... Read it

great imagery, redpets: it does seem like Mikey's 'chained to the wall' in bahrain now... wonder when the prince will snap out of it and realize that hitching his wagon to this losin' star won't get his record label going anywhere and boot Mikey's spotted hiney outta there once and for all?!
